Breast Cancer Awareness Benefit Concert

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In support, portions of the proceeds from this show will be donated to the Striving and Surviving Cancer Foundation.

The Striving & Surviving Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Lake County, Illinois, that provides support and resources to women affected by cancer, including financial aid, emotional support, and community through programs and event. Founded in 1998 by Beverly McCray, the organization started as a support group and has grown to address all the unique needs of cancer survivors, aiming to uplift them and provide a lifeline during their journey. 

About the Artist

Named a 2024 Downbeat Magazine "Rising Star", composer and percussionist Thaddeus Tukes is one of the most dynamic musicians in America. Presented as the "World's Best Vibraphonist" by World Expo 2020 in Dubai, his virtuosity and creativity "brings poetry to the vibraphone" (Chicago Tribune, 2019), which has captivated audiences around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, Symphony Center in Chicago, and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. As one of "Chicago's Hidden Gems" (CBS, 2023), Thaddeus honors the legacy of the jazz tradition and beyond.
